Andrew Loughnane holds a degree in Germanic studies from Indiana University. As an exchange student in philosophy for two years at Ludwig Maximilian University in Munich, he became enamored with disparate forms of self expression. Mixing readymades, performance, music, installation, painting and proletarian interaction with a lo-fi aesthetic, his past work explored the limits of acceptable media in contemporary art. While living and working in Chicago, Loughnane has since abandoned his post-studio approach to art to allow the trials of work-a-day life and the absurdity of urban living dictate works made
with more traditional mediums. He maintains that this recent assent makes him a much happier person.
