(7-8PM)
by Steve Zieverink and Wendy Uhlman

You are cordially invited to participate in the first of a series of beer tastings for the Artisan Beer Series by Chris Tourre.

The Artisan Beer Series explores the divining and spiritual search for water and the eventual transformation into beer: one of the oldest forms of communal drink within the written history of humanity.

Tourre embarks on various primitive camping excursions in the search for water. Once a source is found, the water is tested for drinkability and collected if all tests are passed. These tests influence the beer that is eventually brewed by the artist and shared with participants at the event.

Edition #1: Kickapoo Kölsch Reserve 2010

Waters for this Kölsch came from the Kickapoo Valley Reserve in La Farge, Wisconsin.

A four-mile hike into the heart of the reserve leads to this 5th magnitude, tubular spring.

The non-assertive flavoring of the Kölsch allows participants to truly appreciate the crisp and minute bitterness of the unfiltered water.
